HOW IT BEGAN
In 2010 Kevin Walsh formed an event in Melbourne to raise money for the fight against cancer to show support for one of his colleagues, Wendy Carol, as she battled with the disease.
Martial artists flew in from all over Australia and some from overseas to help with his cause. It was realized after that many others wanted to contribute but found travel and accommodation to his event wasn't affordable and funds could go straight to the cause. Considering this, Kevin decided that each state could do their own and even in other countries they could do the same for their local cancer charities.
The first S.A. Fight For Life seminar was organized for October of 2012 and hosted by Kym Reid, a martial artist of over 44 years experience. Another small seminar in May that year was sanctioned to raise awareness of the upcoming event, however unfortunately that host used it to divert people to another group event rather than the real fundraiser.
